The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals established by the United Nations to end poverty, safeguard the environment, and ensure that all people live in peace and prosperity. Five of the Goals are strongly related to Burhan Gas core operations and business strategy.

Goal 3: Good health and well-being

3.9: Our product contributes to the development of safe and healthy cooking solutions around the world. When compared to wood, charcoal, kerosine, and animal dung, LPG is a cleaner cooking fuel that is widely utilised in underdeveloped countries. LPG does not produce any soot particles. Because our composite products do not corrode, the risk of gas leaks and accidents is reduced. Gas penetration is kept to a minimum with our product technology.

Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy

7.1 LPG is a transition fuel with a lower carbon impact than many alternative fuels like wood and charcoal. Our composite products do not corrode, lowering the risk of gas leaks and accidents. They also have a long lifespan (> 21 years), lowering the total cost of ownership. Our cylinders are more environmentally friendly in transportation and easier to handle than the most regularly used steel cylinders. Because our cylinders are transparent, end users can always see how much LPG is inside.
7.2: Bio-LPG, also known as renewable LPG, is entirely compatible with our cylinders.

Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

8.2: We have a completely automated production line that focuses on lean manufacturing.
8.4: Our product is currently light weight, and we’re investing in R&D to cut resource consumption even more. We improve our resource efficiency by recycling our own liner waste internally. (Our product has a 21+ year lifespan).
8.6: Trainees and apprentices are both employed.

Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure

9.4: Our goods are used in over 4 nations around the world, many of which are developed and underdeveloped. Our lightweight items make it easier to supply to difficult-to-reach regions.
9.5: We spend a significant amount of money on R&D initiatives and innovation for long-term sustainability, both internally and in conjunction with research organisations and universities. Reduction of material use and recycling of product waste flows are two examples of study subjects.

Goal 12: Responisible consumption and production

12.2: We are constantly working to enhance our product and production in order to reduce waste generation and create ways to reuse or recycle our products through significant R&D activities. Our lightweight goods are naturally resource-efficient, and they have a long lifespan (21+ years) because to their outstanding quality.
12.4: All chemicals and emissions are safely managed according to rules thanks to ISO 14001 accreditation and our closed production facility. Our zero-emissions plan has yielded positive results.
12.5: We’ve been recovering plastic trash from liners internally since the beginning, and we’re now expanding it to include casing parts

Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals

17.16: Through our sales and through participation in the Innovation Norway programs “UN Global Growth” and “Global Gateways by IN” we strive to build global innovative partnerships to solve important missions for a.o. developing countries. Through our partnerships in Cooking4Life, World LPG Association, Liquid Gas Europe and UN Global Compact, we actively seek cross-functional partnerships for more effective aid linked to our products.
17.17: We team up with the local networks of our customers worldwide (both public and private) to enhance processes and secure funding to get cleaner and safer LPG to the people. An example is from Bangladesh, where our customer has got local private funding to supply our gas cylinders to camps for displaced Rohingya refugees.
